Functional Requirement

1. Need to create an Ad-hoc report to display the Material group and respective description in the crystal report.
2. Need to give a list of materials from an Excel sheet with the sales org 1000.
3. Need to show the Material number, sales org, Material group 1, Material group 2, & Material group 3 along with their description.

Solution Summary

1. Need to create a Crystal Report using MVKE table to show Material number, sales org, Material group 1, Material group 2, & Material group 3 along with their description.
2. Need to add MS Excel sheet to the report and we need to link both tables in the designer.

Solution Details

Issues

1. In MS Excel sheet we are having SalesOrg 100 Materials, which are Number type.
2. In Crystal Report we have a Material field which is a String field.
3. While linking those two Materials in the Links tab it is giving an warning message as Data types are not matching.
4. To link the fields in Crystal, data types should be Identical.
5. So we informed to NEC to create a BEx query which is having SalesOrg 1000 Materials with string datatype.
